  Registering the MapSpeller™ Extension

After installing the MapSpeller software and with the MapSpeller extension enabled and displayed within ArcMap, you will need to register it and obtain a keycode from Edgetech America, Inc. This keycode will unlock the MapSpeller spell-checking functionality.

  1. Select the Options menu from the MapSpeller toolbar.

  2. Read and accept the licensing agreement, then enter your contact information on the Licensing page and click on either the Evaluate or Buy License button.

  3. An email with your contact information and your computer CPU ID and name is automatically prepared. Just send the email as is.

NOTE: Users without a Windows-based email or Internet access on the computer where MapSpeller has been installed should manually email the following file to info@edgetech-us.com:

    1. In Windows 7 or Vista: c:\ProgramData\Edgetech America\License\SingleUser\MapSpeller_wat.txt
    2. In Windows XP, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Edgetech America\License\SingleUser\MapSpeller_wat.txt

  4. Within a couple of days you will receive an email back from Edgetech America, Inc. with instructions on how to save your keycode to disk.
  5. The next time you turn the MapSpeller extension on, it will automatically update its keycode.

  6. If the keycode is correct, the next time you access the MapSpeller toolbar when the layout view is active, the Run command will be enabled.

Important Notes

  • If the keycode is incorrect or corrupted (firewall, etc.) and error messages appear, please email Edgetech a screen snapshot of the FIRST error message that comes up, or a screen video.
  • If you are registering the extension for someone else, that person will still need to register as a user. You will automatically be registered as a user when you register MapSpeller.
